How to Lose Baby Weight Fast

After giving birth to a baby many new mothers are anxious to lose the extra weight that they had gained during pregnancy. Some may only have a few pounds to lose while others gained way more weight than they should have during the pregnancy and now they have a long road of hard work ahead of them. Regardless of how much weight you have to lose, as a new mother you are probably interested in learning how to lose baby weight fast. Three easy tips that you can follow include breastfeeding your baby, getting on an exercise program that includes interval training and finding the motivation to keep yourself going. Here is some more information on each of these tips to help you get started.

Breastfeeding

One of the easiest and most highly recommended weight loss methods after pregnancy is to breastfeed your new baby. There are many great benefits that come with breastfeeding your baby including: creating a stronger bond; giving the baby many nutrients that they cannot get from formula and making it easier for you to lose weight. If you are able to breastfeed your baby, it is always recommended over formula feeding. Simply by breastfeeding you will be able to burn an extra 500 calories each day without adding in extra exercise or watching your calorie intake. If you add in some exercise during the day then you are sure to see the results in no time.

Interval training

Once you have healed from giving birth, it is a good idea to get back into an exercise program. Your body needs the energy that comes from a good workout and will appreciate the time it gets to move around and take a break from the baby. Interval training, especially kinds that are high intensity, are great for burning fat. The best part is that even though they are really intense, they usually do not last that long compared to other exercises that you can do. This means that you will not have to take hours out of your day in order to see the results that you want. An example of interval training is when you walk/slow jog for 40 seconds and then run/sprint for 20 seconds. You would continue this exercise for 10 or 15 minutes and soon see the results.

Find the Right Motivation

Often it can be really difficult for a new mother to find the motivation that they need in order to get up and get the exercise that is so important in losing weight. A new baby takes a lot of energy and if you are up half the night and dealing with the baby all day as well, all you will want to do is sleep. Make sure to take the first few weeks at least to get the sleep that you need so that you can give your new baby the attention that they deserve. Once you are ready to get back into it, you must find someone or something that will keep you motivated. Often, it is easiest to stay on a plan if you can find a friend who will work out and motivate you along the way. Once you get in the habit of exercising regularly it will get easier and easier to get motived – I promise.
